It all began in Autumn Term 1993, Leadership Development with Dr. Hammerschimdt then into Western Heritage. Add some classes in the academic quad or the then new marine science SeaQuest lab. Take a winter term to Bermuda with Dr. Meylan. Mix in a senior seminar, JCP, and comprehensive exams. Add a pinch of events amid the alien spaceship turned chapel. Take a walk along the beach, or a canoe into the bay, or a hammock between the palms, continue by throwing in a maritime training stint with EC-SAR, cleanup projects with the Earth Society, student session with ECOS, and a few seabirds in bandages and then you have the recipe of my life in St. Petersburg, Florida, at Eckerd College.
Go Tritons; all hail the fire ant.
